  nice to be able to see that there are others who have similar feelings to me.

  That is interesting Black Sheep because most of my introduction to a lot of jazz came from the JW who studied with me. He had all kinds of jazz records. We would listen to his records together and he would loan them to me. Dagney would know who he was because she was also friend with him and his wife.

  on one of our "concert threads" there seemed to be a lot of leonard cohen fans.

  just to let you all know he's doing a three and a half hour concert at madison square garden on dec. 18. hudson valley ny.

  I used to have Time Out in cassette. Even then it was probably 15 years old. Take Five just makes you feel good listening to it.

  i have been inactice now for about 4 months.

  i keep getting visit from elders and well meaning ministerial servants.

  i went back to two meetings about two weeks ago.

  Hi MsGrowingGirl. Not much I can add. Some great advise here. Maybe a little recap. Keep putting your education first. You won't regret that latter in life when you can get the good jobs. Plan you your escape wisely. You don't have to rush it but don't fall in to the enless cycle of pretending you believe it to avoid conflict. You can wind up wasting the rest of your life playing that game. Also realize (as others have said) the feelings of guilt and wanting to go back are all part of the this cults brainwashing. It runs deep and take time to get rid of. Check out the Cult mind control books mentioned here. It is easy to see the Watchtowers methods in them.

  "the mess in the west"

  last night the folks on the weather channell were referring to our rainstorm as "the mess in the west.

  " they always have to have a catch phrase, don't they.

  i understand oregon is getting dumped on, up to a foot of rain in some areas, but we're closer to the southern end of the storm and they say we're just getting a few inches.. anway, isn't rain glorious?

  I like the Christmas lights, but not the Commercial part of Christmas

  neighbours competing with each other for the best display of christmas decorations.

  some are tackyy t, and some are very tastefull.

  There is a lot of human tradition in Christmas, both Pagan and Christian. I enjoy most of it. I don't enjoy the greedy retailers starting it off by trying to ruin Thanksgiving with their Black Friday shopping insainity.

  i invited some family over and hope they can sit back and enjoy a good meal with non-contraversial topics!

  in 1972 when my father dragged my family into the jws he pretty much cut off our extended family.

  i haven't seen most of them for 30 or 40 years.

  recently, thanks to facebook, i've found my family, and this year i'm traveling to maine for my first family thanksgiving in 40 years!.

  That sounds great. Through Facebook I've also been able to reconnect with a few people I lost contact with due to the Watchtower's shunning policies.

  DWTS-Michael Jackson tribute night

  so tonight is michael jackson night and they are scanning the audience and his mom is there.. how does she manage to stay in good standing.

  She has money. The Watchtower likes that. Also they know damned well if they kicked a high profile grandmother like her out it would be all over the news and they wouldn't look good. Better just to stick to picking on and abusing the lesser known members of their organization.
